NOTICES 5th – 9th June
Thank you to all the children and teachers for a wonderful concert. It was really a fantastic day with great entertainment from our little people. A very big thank you to all the parents for your super support of your children and the school. We look forward to yet another great 345 concert in 2018.
Measles Campaign: The Department of Health communicated to us that the measles campaign has been extended. As per previous notice, the nurses were scheduled to be at our school on Wednesday 31st May. They have now re-scheduled the visit to Thursday 8th June.
Book Week: 12th – 15th June A fun filled week of reading. Children will be involved in planned activities for the week. The Book People will be here on the 14th and 15th June selling books at incredible prices. They will be set up in the Zulu classroom. More details will be in your child’s homework/message book.
Book Week Dress Up day: Thursday 15th June – Children need to come dressed up as a character of their favourite book.
Holiday Fun Club: The letters for the half term Holiday Fun Club have been emailed and hard copies have been sent home with your child. Please respond with the reply slip if you are going to attend. All reply slips must be handed in by Monday 12th June.
Birthdays: Parents please only provide cupcakes or party packs for your child’s birthday celebrations at school.
Winter Colds/Flu: Parents if your child is sick, please do not send them to school. They need to be at home and recover fully before returning to school. We will need a doctor’s clearance certificate when they return if they have been diagnosed with any serious / communicable illness.
Aftercare: Parents please take note that aftercare is from 2:00pm till 5:30pm. We now have a cordless phone for aftercare, the aftercare teacher on duty will have the phone. The contact number is the same as the main switch board number 011 029 0802. Parents please call the aftercare teacher if you are running late to collect your child.
Late Collection: We are finding that some parents are collecting their children after 6:00pm. This is happening quite often of late. Please understand that it is a very long day for your child, it’s getting dark much earlier now, it is almost supper time, and your child is hungry and tired. Please also consider the staff, they have to get home to their families and they may have to take taxis home. If for whatever reason you cannot fetch your child on time, please arrange alternate transport for your child.
